Good to Know
What makes Menorca good for mountain bikers: Lots of interconnecting ( rough track ) routes without any cars - the island is criss crossed with rough tracks, quiet country lanes and spectacular coastal paths. A diversity of terrain from hills to dramatic coastal descents to amazing beaches and lastly the island is a Unesco proteced heritage site sparsely populated and 40% of the island is a proteced area ( with MTB access ) .
Longer days, with a good chance of Sun in a landscape that is without the crowds and CHEAP accommodation

TIP Each year in mid October is a 3 day race , Volta en Menorca, which includes a night stage.
What to expect?
Lot's of nature , undeveloped coastline and interiors. Menorca's 'road' system is based on an old network of connecting routes long before cars. Narrow tracks between dry stone walls, quiet single track country lanes between towns and villages.
Pack a high visibility vest - so many of the connecting Camis have high stone walls and curves it will help make you more visible to any oncoming occasional cars
Menorca's Road Network including the now MTBÂ favourite Cami de Cavalls coastal track. You see that everything centres on from the main ME-1 ( due to valleys ).
Note that not all stretches of the Cami de Cavalls are rideable ( not even extreeme riders! ) so some pushing and carrying might be required. Walkers and Horse riders always have priority .
Mountain Biking Menorca Style
MTB riders are discovering that Menorca is a great new destination for Mountain Bike ( touring holidays) . Either the odd ride while on holiday or as a full mountain bike holiday destination with the sun on your back and refreshing swim stops miles away from life's car filled roads hectic.
The island is small so self guided tours are easy - see trails and favourite Routes eg Cami de Cavalls below. Short or Multi-day Tours can be had from a growing list of specialist companies . Hire shops for casual MTB riding can be found in resort.
